by Susan Erling Martinez

- Act like you’re God.
- Be devoted to your master.
- Purring will get you
further than growling and hissing.
- Make bathing a sacred
ritual.

observe the world.
- Make someone laugh.
- When life gets hectic,
take a nap.
- Be a cat-alyst for change.
- Use your “night vision.”
- Protect your young.
- Honor your elders.
- Remember where you came
from: Lion and tigers, oh my!
- Indulge your wild side.
- Focus on your “mouse.”
- Nine lives is never
enough.
- Watch your karma – “claws”
and effect.
- Be a finicky eater.
- Discover even old cats
love new tricks.
- Don’t let the cat out of
the bag.

you’ll feel so much better.

world.

Earth.

feet.

leash.

“dogs.”

to the lonely and elderly.

opinion of others.

tom cat.
- Every so often, go out on
a limb.

day.

body and soul.

someone’s attention, lie down on her newspaper.

yourself.
- “Meow” means the same
thing in all languages: Here I am!
